Founder and Principal Dentist - 77122​

Dr Gurpram Lidder

“I was a typically shy and reserved teenager and I wouldn’t smile because I had crooked teeth. Then ‘Dr Mortimer’ extracted 4 of my teeth in one session. I remember looking out and seeing my Mum wincing. She didn’t know that I couldn’t feel a thing!

“Thanks to Dr Mortimer I was able to smile again, and my confidence soared. Years later I qualified as a dentist from Kings College, London in 1999. “He was my inspiration for becoming a dentist and why making the patients experience as comfortable and painless as possible has always been a top priority for me and my team.” Gurpram has a flair for treating nervous patients and has had numerous successes helping patients overcome their dentist phobia. Additionally, he is proud to train young dentists and offer them the benefit of his knowledge and experience in their first year of practice. You could describe Gurpram as a Liverpool FC fanatic. A supporter since the early 80s and an Anfield denizen since 2003, his favourite player is the God-like John Barnes and one of the best moments of his life was attending the 2005 Champions League Final in Istanbul (Liverpool won on penalties). A fan of the Marvel Comic Universe and Stanley Kubrick’s oeuvre particularly ‘Full Metal Jacket’, Gurpram also loves his holidays as they’re a chance to show his daughters different places and perspectives in countries such as Sri Lanka and India.

Dr Mayur Desai

Mayur qualified from Birmingham University in 2012 and has been a Queensbury regular since 2013. Since then, he has trained extensively in two areas and is able to provide patients with Invisalign and dental implants in house. He’s also a fan of restorative work such as veneers, crowns and bridgework resulting in huge improvements to a patient’s dental health and self-esteem. Mayur believes prevention should start from 6 months old, and by combining friendly language with a sense of fun can pay real dividends when treating children. “A good rapport with your dentist early on can help to establish good habits and excellent oral health for life.” Outside of work he’s a keen photographer, loves to ski in the French Alps and travel across the globe to places like Croatia, San Francisco and Thailand. A gym goer when he’s feeling ‘non-lazy’, he’s much happier kicking back at an England test match in Edgbaston, particularly if firebrand Ben Stokes is at the crease! Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

General Dentist - 271864

Dr Nikhil Parekh

Nikhil qualified as a dentist in 2016 and carries out routine dental procedures at Queensbury such as tooth extractions, fillings and root canals, and gets a buzz out of getting patients out of pain. His passion is for improving patient’s appearance cosmetic treatments particularly white fillings, an excellent alternative to those unsightly amalgam fillings. He is the newest member of the team and Queensbury is his first practice. He was drawn to the homely environment, the team spirit and the excellent support and started worked here when he began his training. Out-of-work passions include dance music, regular gym workouts, playing squash and 5-a-side football. He’s supported Manchester Utd for as long as he can remember and occasionally visits Old Trafford. A keen traveller, Nikhil hearts NYC, Grimaldi’s famous pizza and walking over the Brooklyn Bridge. He hopes to enjoy a forthcoming trip to Thailand just as much.

Dr Priya Pattani 

Priya is an eager and passionate dentist. Talking to patients and helping them achieve their dental goals is what she strives to do day in and out. Priya understands that some patients can be nervous and uneasy when attending their appointments, however she aims to provide a comfortable environment in which high quality treatment can be provided to her patients. She particularly has a keen eye for aesthetic dentistry however, provides a full range of general dental treatment. 
Outside of work Priya loves to engage in outdoor activities like hiking. She also enjoyed yoga and meditation studios where she goes to unwind and relax.

Dr Jay Thanki

With a calm and confident demeanour, Jay prides himself on making even the most nervous patients reassured.  He has a specific interest in cosmetic and minimally invasive dentistry – where the latest techniques are used to keep treatment as simple and comfortable as possible, with reliable and long-lasting results. As part of his further education, he is currently completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry with the prestigious ACE Institute. Outside of work, Jay enjoys following his beloved Liverpool FC and spending time in the kitchen feeding friends and family – especially with his famous cheesecakes.

Hygienist - GDC No: 275465

Megan Tompkins

Megan has been in dentistry for over 10 years. She started off as a dental nurse and worked as a locum for many practices over Hertfordshire and London. She then decided to pursue a career in dental hygiene, qualifying as a hygienist during the covid pandemic in 2020.  She learnt from the pandemic that one of the most important parts of her job is human interaction and caring. She loved being a friendly ear to her patients during a hard time. 

Her specialities are dealing with patients with dental anxiety, gag reflexes and patients with additional needs.  Alongside dentistry, Megan qualified as a beautician in 2016 and loves giving people a pamper. She qualified from Derma Medical as an aesthetic injector in 2021 and has recently qualified in hydra facials on Harley Street. She can’t wait to provide these services at the practice.  Megan is known for her loud laugh and good sense of humour. Outside of work she loves a glass of Rose with the girls, watching rugby with her boyfriend Callum and walking her dog, Shrek.

Jade Watson

Having transitioned from a nursing role to a managerial position, Jade combines her clinical expertise with her leadership skills to oversee the smooth operation of our practice. Her extensive experience in dentistry allows her to understand the needs of both patients and staff, ensuring that everyone feels supported and valued. She prioritizes the well-being of our team, providing guidance, training, and support to help them excel in their roles. In her free time, Jade enjoys drawing and painting. Her favourite paintings are ones of people’s pets, anything from dogs, cats and even a marvel hamster!! Whether she's spending time with her friends and family, or painting with her Dad, Jade approaches life with enthusiasm and dedication, mirroring her commitment to excellence in her professional endeavours.

Emma Mcnamee

Emma began her journey with us as a trainee dental nurse in 2019 and has become a great asset to the team. Having undergone training in first aid and sedation, Emma is well-prepared to handle any situation that may arise in the practice. Her passion for implant procedures reflects her commitment to assisting innovative procedures that provide comfort and longevity. Emma’s gentle demeanour and reassuring presence, creates a comfortable and welcoming environment where patients feel safe and supported throughout their treatment.

Emma enjoys spontaneous activities and spending time with her little boy.

Sky Kundi

​Sky has been a great addition to our team since joining in November 2023. With over three years of valuable nursing experience under her belt, her knowledge and enthusiasm for dentistry shines through. Skys favourite procedures consist of restorative and cosmetic procedures, and the odd endodontic treatment. Whether it's assisting dentists during complex procedures or ensuring that patients are comfortable in the clinic, Sky's ability to adapt makes her an invaluable asset to our team. When not at work, sky enjoys spending time at the pub with her friends, trying new food spots, and looking after her dogs.

Lucica Furtuna

Having attained her dental nursing qualification in 2017, Lucica has continuously demonstrated her commitment to excellence in dentistry. She aims to continue to be efficient in assisting chair-side procedures, managing patient care, and ensuring a smooth flow within the practice reflects her extensive training and dedication to her craft. Outside of work, Lucica is a mother of two boys. She loves football, travelling and loves to cook traditional Romanian dishes. Especially cakes.

​Clare has been a valued member of our team, with a heart for patient care and a passion for bringing smiles to people's faces. With over a decade of experience in the field, Clare has honed her skills to ensure that every patient receives the highest level of comfort and support during their dental visits. With training in sedation and first aid, she is well-equipped to handle any situation that may arise, ensuring the safety and well-being of every individual under her care. Outside of work, Clare is a mother of two who loves spending time outdoors. And loves karaoke, Eastenders and a cheeky bottomless brunch.

Kiarna Abraham

Kiarna is a recently Graduated fashion student who joined us in 2023. Having spent three months in Malawi, Africa, she has worked closely with small communities, initiatives aimed at enhancing children education. Now serving as a dental receptionist, Kiarna brings vibrant energy and dedication to ensuring every patient's visit is seamless and pleasant. With a keen eye for detail and organization, she handles daily tasks to ensure the practice operates efficiently and effectively, creating a warm and welcoming environment where patients feel at ease and valued.

​​Hifza  is currently training to become a qualified dental nurse. She is passionate about providing excellent patient care. With a friendly and compassionate approach, Hifza is committed to ensuring every patient feels comfortable and well supported throughout their visit. As part of the team, Hifza is gaining valuable hands-on experience and expanding her knowledge in all aspects of dentistry.
